The Irish National Championships and Japanese Ambassador’s Cup 2016 takes place on Sunday 5th June in the Lough Community Centre, Pouladuff Road, Cork, starting at 11am. The day will include the three-person team event along with men’s, women’s and junior’s individual events. Participants are asked to register for the competition and associated seminar here as soon as possible. You must be a member of Kendo na hÉireann in order to participate. Kendo Spring Seminar 2016

The annual Kendo na hÉireann Spring Kendo Seminar will take place this year on 23rd and 24th April in the Marino Institute of Education, Griffith Avenue, Dublin. ​ The seminar will be led once more by Geoffrey Salmon sensei nanadan kyoshi from the UK with assistance from Dany Delepière sensei nanadan renshi from Belgium. ​ On the Sunday we will have a grading to shodan level. ​ Please register below if you will attend and make payment to your dojo leader. The seminar costs 40 euro and that includes grading to first kyu. Those attempting shodan will also have to pay a grading application fee of 15 euro and if they pass, a further 20 euro grading registration fee. We are delighted to announce that Junichi Tashiro sensei 8th Dan Kyoshi and owner of the Tenpudo Bogu Shop will run a Kendo seminar in Dublin from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th February as part of the Tashiro sensei UK & Ireland Visit February 2016. The Japanese Charity “Support Our Kids” which brings second-level students from the areas affected by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on study trips abroad, will join us for an evening at the Nagle-Rice Hall, Marino institute of Education on Friday 31st July 2015. The ten high-school students will speak about their experiences during and in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. This will be followed by pizza and games. All are welcome to attend.
